Yeast balloons Experiment

Last Tuesday Room 1 done science experiment called Yeast balloons. You had to mix sugar, warm water and dry yeast together. After mixing we had to pour the mixture into a plastic bottle. Then we stretched a balloon over the neck of the bottle. We put the bottle in a warm place.

Dams buddy writing

Dams  block the flow of water. Dams are built across the river or stream.
The purposes of dams are used for retaining water and used for fishing .
Also dams are used to generate electricity. Waitakere operates fourteen supply reservoirs.
Five of them are in the Waitakere Ranges.
Dams supply 80 percent of Auckland’s water. Early dams were made out of earth and rock.
After World War Two dams were built of earth and rock.
Dams need 1.8 metres of rain in Auckland annually a year .
